I was invited to create a public artwork in 2021 as part of the first edition of the art festival 'Les Temps d'Art' in Saumur. Inspired by the city itself, a castle town with a long standing tradition of stone carving and masonry I imagined an artwork which would respond to both the local craft and to the history. René of Anjou, king of the castle during the 15th century had called his home: 'Château d’Amour', inspired by this story, I imagined an artwork in three chapters responding to the theme of love. This included an edition of three benches made locally with stone and aged wood, an series of ten flags: 'La Danse de L'Amour' and a love potion (a red wine) created with a local wine maker.
If you are interested in the benches and would like to order an edition for the city you live in or for a private garden please get in touch. The benches are made to order.
